Well, I think I actually finished Christmas shopping today!!! The stores were crowded but, I actually was able to sneak in the right line to get out fairly quick today.... Dallas had basketball practice today, he actually is doing pretty well :) They were actually scrimmaging each other and he had the ball and the defender was on him and he actually dribbled the ball between his legs! lol .... It was fun to watch! So if you ever need any Sunday afternoon entertainment, you will have to come watch him!
I wanted to also ask all my fellow bloggers to pray for someone for me! Some of you know this young man, Andrew Helser..... He is a senior this year at Teays Valley.... He is actually doing the exchange student program and is currently in Germany.... I spoke with his mom today. Andrew has had a rough time. They placed him with a family who are atheist! They would not allow Andrew to go to church. His "host" sister would ridicule him if he prayed or read his Bible. Then, they wouldn't let him report to the agency he went through to get there. So somehow he got a hold of his parents to let them know what was going on. They have now placed him with a new "host" family. His "real" sister has flown to Germany to be with him for a while. I pray for their safety and I am asking that you do the same. I hope they will continue to be strong in their faith!
It is amazing how we take things for granite... This time of year is definitely a time to be thankful.... I am so glad that even though there are MANY things wrong in this country.... we are still able to worship Jesus Christ!!! I know there were several stores that were not allowing their employees to say "Merry Christmas" to customers but, today I think every store I was in, their employee said "Merry Christmas" to me before I could say it to them first.... It was as if they were making a statement.... There are sooo many people that hide when things are done against their Christianity but, yet there are still those that have faith in God and do Stand UP!!!
I am definitely taking the time this year to reflect and be ever so thankful to live where I can celebrate the birthday of the everlasting KING, JESUS CHRIST!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!

I will be praying for Andrew and his sister, too! I can't imagine how he felt being there w/that host family!!!! How awful and he is soooo young to have to go thru that! I am soooo glad to hear he got ahold of his parents and has been placed elsewhere!!!!!
Merry Christmas, girl!!!! I missed seeing you all on Friday!!!! It sounds like it was a real nice time!!!! :) Thanks for everything you do for Jacob and me!!!! We love ya!!!!! :))
I will pray that Andrew is safe, holds fast in his faith, and that he and his sister will be able to enjoy a visit. It is hard to understand how the agency involved could make such a mistake. Of course, it may have been good fortune for the family he was with for a while. He may have planted a seed in their lives that will some day take hold, and grow. We will pray that was the case.
I am glad you finished your shopping and that everyone is looking forward to Christmas! I wear a pin that says, "MERRY CHRISTMAS, IT IS WORTH SAYING."
Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the Christmas thoughts! We all need to reflect on the good things for sure! If you talk to Drew, let him know we are all praying for him!! It is wonderful to see young people hold true to their beliefs!!!
We will continue to pray for Andrew and his sister. I'm just glad he's ok.
I have a friend who went into a certain store where their employees were not allowed to say "Merry Christmas". She and her son turned around as they got to the exit door and yelled back at all the registers, "MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE!"
How's that for taking a stand.
