My Stephanie Moment.....

Oh geez, where to begin..... there are sooo many moments that are special to me... of course there are the usual first teeth, first words.... first steps...etc...

But, hmmmm there is one that stands out in my mind....I was sharing this with a friend the other day! She was about four years old.... we had gone shopping on one of our "girls days" (the days I was off work and we spent together). She never acted bad in the stores or anywhere.... I always took her with me.... but this time, she was whining, crying and throwing an all out fit!!! Anyways, I told her to stop or I was going to spank her.... Well, she not only continued but, got worse... (did I mention, she did not act like this) So, I ended up spanking her.... Well in the car I proceeded to tell her on the way home, how I hated to spank her but, that type of behavior was not acceptable etc.... So then I told her, "Look at how Good you are being NOW!!!" She looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and said, "Well, I guess you just should have spanked me sooner!" LOL.....

Words of wisdom from a four year old..... :)

Well, I could cheat and use Angie's Stephanie moment since she can't blog....You know, the one where she didn't want to leave the Hinton's party b/c she "never gets to see Robbie"!!! or there's the other one where she sang her special at church and did the famous bow...but, I'll try and think of my own.

:)

Man, it is a good thing I didn't know you spanked her. I would have had to come to her rescue!lol
OK, since emjaye mentioned "bow", here goes. Stephanie and I were in Wal-Mart one afternoon, strollimg through the toy department. All of a sudden, the music coming across the store system was the song Ariel sings while in her treasure room in the movie " Little Mermaid". This just happened to be one of the songs Steph was learning to sing for a talent contest. She began to sing, or should I say "perform" the song, sitting right there in the shopping cart child seat. Far be from me to keep her from practice, so I let her continue. She used used facial expressions, head jestures, and of course, hand movements. When the song was over, she did a complete "bow"...from the child seat of the cart! This bow included a circling doownward hand jesture along with all the hair down over the shoulder, and...a very appropriate pause!! If this wasn't already a treasured moment by itself, the entire toy department broke out in applause!

That is so cute...I love to hear the funny things that kids say. I wish I had started keeping a journal of things that Jenna has said.

I hope you are feeling better after your busy day at preschool. I know it must be overwhelming! I know that sometimes dealing with parents is the worst part about teaching. I sure am so glad that I put my money in an envelope and wrote what it was for :) That one parent had a lot of nerve talking to you about Kim's job-some just have no clue!

I can't wait to see you tomorrow for the field trip! I am so excited!
